Ham Bone Soup
Ingredients
1 Ham bone with meat
6 cups of Water
2 Large onions
4 Potatoes
4 Carrots
1 kilogram of Pre-cooked beans
½ cup of Rice
1 teaspoon of Turmeric
½ teaspoon of Cumin
¼ teaspoon of Black pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : Rinse the ham with running water to remove any sugary coating and trim any excess fat.
Step 2 : Then, partially cover it with water, adjusting the amount of water and other ingredients proportionally.
Step 3 : Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook simmering for 60 to 90 minutes.
Step 4 : Meanwhile, prepare the potatoes and carrots in bite-sized pieces and chop the onions.
Step 5 : Once the ham has cooled slightly, clean it by hand and cut into pieces, then add all ingredients to the broth.
Step 6 : Bring everything to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1 to 2 hours, until potatoes and carrots are tender.
Step 7 : It's important to adjust the seasoning with a little salt at the end, if necessary.
