Ingredients

1 kilogram of Ground turkey

1 tablespoon of Olive oil

1 Finely chopped onion

2 tablespoons of Homemade sofrito

¼ cup of Chopped cilantro

2 teaspoons of Ground oregano

2 cans of Spaghetti sauce

500 grams of Cooked lasagna noodles

1 kilogram of Ricotta cheese

1 Egg

cup of Grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning

½ cup of Shredded spicy cheddar cheese

½ cup of Shredded Colby cheese

1 cup of Shredded mozzarella cheese

Non-stick spray

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare this recipe, first heat the oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet.

Step 2 : Then, add the ground turkey and onions, cooking until the turkey begins to brown.

Step 3 : Next, add the sofrito, cilantro, oregano, salt, and pepper, continuing to cook and stir until the turkey is browned and cooked through.

Step 4 : Remove excess fat and add one and a half jars of spaghetti sauce, reserving the rest aside.

Step 5 : Cook for another minute to allow the flavors to meld, then set aside.

Step 6 : In a large bowl, combine ricotta (or cottage) cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasonings, mixing well.

Step 7 : Spray the insert of a large slow cooker with non-stick spray.

Step 8 : Then, cover the bottom of the insert with a generous amount of the reserved spaghetti sauce.

Step 9 : Place 5-6 lasagna noodles on a layer over the sauce, followed by a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture, then a layer of the meat mixture, and a layer of shredded cheeses.

Step 10 : Repeat this process 3 more times or until all ingredients are used (some noodles will remain).

Step 11 : Cook the lasagna on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-4 hours, until fully cooked and flavors are fused.

Step 12 : Once ready, serve and enjoy this tasty homemade lasagna prepared in the slow cooker.
